A few days ago I came across a post that had been shared on a social media site that went into how “the world is increasingly designed to depress us.” This was something that had been written in a book, and the page that this had been written on had been shared. It went on to say that “happiness isn’t very good for the economy,” and “if we were happy with what we had, why would we need more?” There are a number of other examples that are used, but they all center around the same point: the world is set up to make us feel bad.
The Last Point
On the last part of the page, it says, “To be calm is to become a kind of revolutionary act. To be happy with your non-upgraded existence. To be comfortable with our messy, human selves, would not be good for business.”
