It’s even written into the American Declaration of Independence – the ‘unalienable’ human right to the ‘pursuit of happiness.’ We chase it like some elusive pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Some of us look for it through the acquisition of material wealth and status, others look introspectively and some try and take a positive outlook approach by focusing on the blue sky rather than the dark clouds. But for most, that pot of gold remains just out of reach.
